We like our new grill very much. Still have some things to learn about using it, but we like the design and how it works so far. It seems a lot sturdier than most of the grills we looked at and also it's not so enormous as some of them are. We especially like the simplicity of it.

 "Love it!!!" 2009-09-14

If you're looking into gas grills, this thing rocks. It takes up very little space on your porch/patio, but for its size has a lot of grilling space. Very easy to start up and work with.

 "Great barbeque grill" 2009-09-12

Was looking for a full size grill with sides that fold down (we have a small patio). This fit the bill and it works great. My husband is the one who does most of the grilling and he loves this one...my only complaint is that it is heavy and if you have to move it around much it can become a task. It cooks beautifully tho' and as I said the sides fold down when not in use.

 "Weber Q 300 - Fantastic" 2009-09-09
By George Holmes (Lincoln, AR United States)
I've been a Weber charcoal grill user for years (still have three of them), and finally wanted to take the gas-grill plunge. I did some research and was all ready to go with a slightly larger unit ... until I realized I was about to "over-buy" (Weber Spirit series), when what I really needed would be for two or three folks at most. I reconsidered, and that's when the Q300 came to the top of the list.

It went together easily, comes up to proper temperature quickly, is easy to keep at the right temperature, is easy to clean, and the fold-out trays on left and right are more than gimmicks, they work fine.

A clarification. I read in the Weber literature that the cart was "stationary", and so figured that the wheels shown in the picture were fake. Not to worry, it rolls as needed. I am sure it has to do with the fact that one has to lift on the opposite end and then push or pull (like a tea cart or wheelbarrow), and it may also be Weber's concern that folks will have an accident with the propane tank on-board while moving it around. If you're careful, can lift one end before rolling, and are on a fairly smooth surface (deck, patio, etc.), it's easy to get it into or out of the area needed. Not as easy as a four wheel cart, but fine.

But back to the cooking. The two burners work fine for direct and indirect cooking styles, something Weber kettle cookers should know all about. With the center burner off, there's an area about 8x12 for indirect cooking. If you need more room than that on a regular basis (like cooking 2 whole chickens at once), then you should consider the larger Spirit or Genesis models. Otherwise, this is more than adequate.

I've cooked vegies, brats, pizza, fish, chicken, even an apple crisp dessert in the 3 weeks we've had it, and everything's been great!
