"Great Product with a minor flaw" 2009-10-27
By Robert J. Paolini
I really like this grill. Overall its a winner. It was simple to put together. The grill cooks evenly and gives you six burners to have on or off when grilling. The only minor item that I am not thrilled with are the knobs. I wish they were a little more solid. They are made out of a light plastic and just doesn't feel solid enough for this grill. Again, this is a minor issue as the rest of the grill is great.

 "I LOVE this Weber" 2009-07-17
By Chino (Miami, FL USA)
The Summit S-620 is their "cheapest" top of the line chassis. This grill does not include the smoker box and hidaway rotisserie that the S-650/670 have nor does it have the sear burner that the S-670 has. However, the add-on rotisserie is $[...] from Weber, the smoker box another $[...] or so. You really don't need a "sear burner". Just preheat the grill properly and it'll do the trick.

For starters, this grill gets hot! I misread the temp gauge the 1st time I fired her up and got her up to almost 400 degrees C! That's almost 750 degrees F! Yipes. Glad I didn't melt her down on day 1. Flame control is excellent (low really means low) and the grill is able to do a good job of indirect grilling with just the two outside burners. No control issues grilling steaks, chops, chicken, fish, or vegetables.

Added features like grill out lights (useful after dark) and the tank "fuel gauge" are helpful.

Construction is sturdy. The cart itself is mostly stainless steel and porcelain enameled steel, the grill box appears to be mostly cast aluminium and porcelain enameled steel. Assembly took me 30 mins (solo job and almost tool-less).

Only 2 complaints. The grease trap feels cheap. The edges on the stamped steel parts are sharp and unfinished. And, it is VERY expensive. [...]

Overall, I paid what I paid for the Weber name (and their support) and a fantastically designed grill. I could not be happier!

 "Mega!" 2009-05-09
By Nathaniel Fick (Maryland)
Mind you, I am at Granddaddy age, and planning for the numbers gathering, but this is a fabulous grill. Each burner has its own starter/lighter, and you can isolate anywhere on the grill if only using 2 or 3 burners, rather than all 6. Side burner is outstanding. My last grill lasted 20 years. This one .... last one. Wow!

This is the perfect BBQ for me. I didn't need the rotisserie so I chose this model. The heat is even and the cooking service will handle even the biggest barbeques at our lake house. Solid construction and beautiful, also. It was delivered in perfect condition and the delivery people were very accomodating.

 "Another great Weber product" 2007-05-12
By David J. Bishop
Recently purchased a Weber S-620. Another great Weber product. I tried a top of the line Sears stainless steel grill two years ago, but began having issues within one year. I won't make the same mistake again, and will just stay with Weber. You truly do get what you pay for. Highly recommended.

"Fantastic Product! Survived the Oregon Coast with flying Colors!" 2009-07-26
By AndrewST (Oregon, USA)
I "saved" this product from my In-laws, they were going to throw it away since they never used it. Being it was sealed in the factory packaging and still had the price card on it, I opted to take it off their hands.

This last week,7/19-7/24, I went camping on the Oregon Coast. As normal it was cold, wet, and windy. Somehow out of the 28 people present at our family gathering, we had two stoves. One was the venerable Coleman table top propane stove. The second being this Camp Chef I brought with me, fresh in box.

Right out of the box this product is extremely easy to assembly. It takes less than 5 minutes to be up and going. It is extremely sturdy and well built, the matte finish is uniform and in order. Overall it exudes quality, something not often found in a product these days. The two 30,000 BTU burners were more than enough to heat large amounts of food quickly, enough to feed every member in a timely manner. Even in the cold wind and rain the flame was easy to light, and it kept that flame until turned off. The stove consumed less than 5 Gallons of Propane during the trip, and it was used at every meal. This was surprising considering the amount of food prepared on it.

I only had one brief issue with the stove, and it happens to be directly related to my one wish, and the reason it wasn't given 5 stars. When I went to use the stove on the second day, after sitting out all night, I found that water had gotten into the burners. This prevented the burners from running at peak performance. It was a simple remedy, I blew the water out and ignited the burners again, after running for a minute the water was dried and the stove worked fantastically. Now how about that wish? Well it would have been nice to see some sort of cover or carry/storage bag come with this stove. Had one of the two been included I wouldn't have experienced the issue. Then again I could have covered it with a tarp, but it didn't cross my mind.

Overall this is a fantastic product, and I would recommend it to anyone who cooks outdoors. It stood up to the cold, wind, and rain of the Oregon Coast, I have seen many outdoor products give into these conditions over the years. Only the best products can survive and this stove is among them. I am glad I saved it from my In-law's and discovered Camp Chef, I also know about 27 other people who were glad this weekend.

I purchased this stove for my father-in-law. It looked/sounded like the perfect stove for tail-gating. However, we used it this afternoon and the burners kept going out everytime the wind increased outside. This would be a great stove if the conditions outside were always perfect.

I just love this product! Robust. Big burners. Underlined with quality with a sensible design for outdoors: I like the way they have kept the flame protected from wind. This really blows away those fancy stainless steel burners I had brought. I like thme so much that I wanted to but another (for some big party maybe) but my wife's better sense prevailed.

I liked CampChefs customer service too, who corrected a wrong choice I was making. I was choosing a very big (75,000BTU) burner option which they said is not suitable for daily cooking.

Guess where ours curry's and stir fry cooks when it is not raining!

This stove is the brother to the SH-140L deluxe high pressure, both can do the job, PROS: to this model is it will hole a round pot better, and the way the legs store. The SH 140L has the cloverleaf design that is a bit heavier duty and a higher cooking height.

"Powerful outdoor burner for cook food restruant way" 2007-06-01
By Edison (United States)
Ever wonder why the resturant food tasted better than home cooked? This burner solved that mystery. Most home stoves are boiling the food, not really fry them. This burner put out so much heat, it evaporates the water in the juice, so the juice from food can stay with the food. Flavor is much better in the food cooked on this burner.

Ever since we have this burner, we don't go out to the restruant that much any more. You can really taste the differences from home cooking!

 "Not happy" 2009-07-06
By Julie (Alberta, Canada)
We were extremely disappointed with our purchase of the George Foreman portable propane grill. I suppose it was our own fault, but we did not realize the top/lid was not removable. Thus, there is no way to keep the heat 'in', so to speak.

The first and only time we used the grill, was just for hot dogs. It took FOREVER to even get brown, let alone heated all the way through. I would not recommend this product to anyone.George Foreman GP200 George 2Go Portable Propane Grill and Griddle

"Great results, one minor fault" 2009-10-15
By Skunk Tabby (Washington, DC)
I really love this little thing. Everything I've made has turned out flavorful, juicy, and smoky. My only complaint is that the lid can be hard to remove after cooking. I have to use tongs, a wad of hotpads, and some brute force to get it open.

"Much better than I ever expected" 2008-12-18
By Chris Newman (Bradenton, Florida United States)
I've had this smoker for about 6 months and these are my thoughts so far.

1. Salmon cooked in this smoker is unbelievably good. Without doubt the best fish I have ever tasted and if you cook nothing else in this unit it's worth the price for the salmon alone. Chicken, potatoes and ribs also great.

2. I first used it on my ceramic topped range indoors. I won't do that again. I am sure it caused damage to one of the heating rings on the range as a pinhole appeared in the ceramic top. There is a warning about that in the limited information sheet, but I ignored it - my own fault. Also (for me) too much smoke in the house. It took days for the smell to go away with all windows open and fans running. Maybe I used too much wood chips.

3. My suggestion is to use it on a barbecue outside. That's what I do. On a propane barbecue with the unit sitting on the grill, barbecue lid down, burners on high, it works great. Burners on low caused fish to cook too long and not be a moist in the center. I guess all barbecues give out different amounts of heat so yours might be different.

4. Buy extra wood chips (I like oak best) you will be cooking a lot of smoked food when you first buy this Cameron.

5. Buy the book "Smokin" by Chris Styler with the Cameron. It's a great book written specifically for the Cameron with cooking times and great tips.

6. Keeping the unit pristine clean is too much work. I wash in hot water and detergent then place in dishwasher. All my other cooking pots and fry pans I keep in new like condition but I quickly gave up on the Cameron. Now, after cleaning as best I can, I leave it out on the barbecue.

Hope this helps.

 "Easy, fast, and delicious" 2008-12-01
By Clementyne (San Luis Obispo, CA)
I've had this little smoker for a few years. Have made only salmon in it, but get rave reviews every time. I confess I bought mine at Sur la Table for the same price as Amazon. Like other reviewers have said, the finish is ruined after the first use unless you have the time, energy, and desire to scrub away at it. I don't. Won't smoke up your kitchen if you close the lid at the first wisp of smoke, keep the temp on the low side, and KEEP THE VENT RUNNING. Very important. Made a smoked salmon spread as an appetizer for Thanksgiving, and it was a huge hit. Simply defrosted a package of Trader Joe's wild salmon and popped it in the smoker unseasoned. Lots of questions from the guests about how I smoked it and where they too can find a stovetop smoker.

 "Good, but not great" 2008-11-10
By Taxguyla (Los Angeles, CA USA)
As far as the actual grilling process goes, this little baby works pretty good. It seems to grill things pretty evenly. It is compact and very easy to carry around.

My biggest complaints is with the physical contruction of the grill lid. The lid only opens 90 degrees straight up. If you use lighter fluid (like me) when starting your briquettes, the flames can really heat up the lid. By the time the briquettes are ready though, the lid has cooled to just "very warm" though, so the handle can be touched without fear of burning yourself. So, I can live with this. I'm not sure why they didnt make the lid fold back 180 degrees though.

Secondly, the nuts & bolts that hold the lid to the base are fitted quite loosely. I think this was somewhat on purpose to allow the lid to easily lift up and down. However, they were way too loose for me. The lid wobbled considerably when raising or lowering it. Since I am kind of handy, I got out some tools and tightened the bolts up. This was a pain in the you-know-what though because it was in very close quarters.

If you can look past these lid shortcomings, I think its a nice little grill. I'd actually give it 3.5 stars if I could. 3 stars for the contruction and 4 for the grilling ability.
