I made the mistake of buying the masterbuilt smoker, used it 3 times before it bursted in flames,I had to put the fire out with an extinguisher, called masterbuilt about it and they blame it on me and refused to honor the warranty, don't waste you money, read the reviews before you buy it!!!

I am a complete novice when it comes to using a smoker but this is truly fool proof. Thanks to great recipes for dry rubs by the Neeleys posted at [...] my first experience turned out fantastic ribs and brisket. The cooker held 3 full racks of ribs (cooked for 4 hours at 225)plus a whole beef brisket (cooked for 7 hours). Rave reviews from very satisfied dinner guests!
Thanks to the person that said to spray the racks with Pam - cleanup went pretty quick.

I just used my new Masterbuilt Electric Smoker for the first time and smoked baby back ribs. The were better than the ones in my old smoker. The meat fell off of the bones!! Everybody enjoyed them!

I have been watching the net for a decent smoker at a reasonable price for a year now. I finally bought one of these last week. I have seen a couple reviews saying it isn't heavy duty and it only lasted a year or two but from what I have read and see now on my new smoker it is a good product for most people. If you are looking to feed an army seven days a week....maybe this isn't for you. But I wanted something that was simple to use and something that would deliver a nicely smoked dinner. This seems to fit the bill. I smoked a 9lb port shoulder and two racks of ribs without any problem whatsoever for space. I'd say if you were creative you could get two of those shoulders in there and 3 or 4 racks of ribs in the space provided. I didn't actually buy it form Amazon and got a little better deal, but I found the reviews on here to be helpful and wanted to put in my two cents. I'd say, if you are in the market and want something easy to use.....grab this smoker. I also have a digital thermometer (which I did get on Amazon) and it was nice to know the actual temperature of the meat. The cooking instructions that came with the smoker were about right on the timing but it's better to be safe when cooking pork and chicken.
BUY BUY BUY and you will be happy.

I bought this as a gift to my father. It never worked - digital box never turned on. My father called masterbuilt on the phone to trouble shoot and see if there was some way to repair the product. The customer service rep. was absolutely no help, gave him the run around and implied that he must have broken it somehow. He wasn't even asking for a refund - just trouble shooting tips. Won't buy from masterbuilt again - dealing with amazon was a similar story. We're ordering a smoker from a local hardware store.
